Aguascalientes continues with a firm commitment to boosting the competitiveness of its local productive sector and positioning regional companies in the most demanding international markets. The Government of the State of Aguascalientes and UPS, a global leader in courier and parcel delivery services, have established a strategic partnership through the signing of a collaboration agreement. This important agreement seeks to transform the local economic landscape by offering exclusive and direct benefits to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Aguascalientes, providing them with essential tools to optimize their export and import processes, while also receiving specialized training and first-class logistics consulting to ensure their commercial success beyond Mexico’s borders.
This collaboration agreement represents an important step toward consolidating Aguascalientes’ leadership as one of the states with the strongest export orientation in the country, by creating conditions that allow local companies to integrate more easily into global supply chains and respond to new challenges in international trade.
INEGI Figures Support Aguascalientes’ Export Performance
The state of Aguascalientes continues to rank among the country’s top-performing exporting states. According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), during 2025 the state recorded exports totaling $13.639 billion dollars. This growth is the result of the consolidation of strategic sectors, the strengthening of the productive base, and the ability of local companies to successfully compete in international markets.
Support for MSMEs and State Economic Development

Regarding the agreement’s impact on the regional economy, Esaú Garza de Vega, Secretary of Economic, Science and Technology Development of the State of Aguascalientes, stated that this partnership strengthens the state’s economic development by opening new business opportunities for local entrepreneurs, increasing their export capacity, and consolidating Aguascalientes as an attractive state for investment and innovation.
Addressing the importance of supporting the business community, the head of SEDECYT emphasized:
“We will continue promoting the growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises because they are a fundamental engine of the economy and job creation in our state. Through strategic partnerships like this one, we seek to make them more competitive, innovative, and productive, so that the quality of products made in Aguascalientes reaches more and more markets both inside and outside Mexico,” he emphasized.
Discounts on Logistics Services for Local Businesses
As part of this collaboration agreement, companies that open a new account with UPS may obtain competitive discount levels on domestic and international shipments. Likewise, companies with more occasional shipping needs will have access to preferential rates when sending their packages through the extensive network of UPS Shipping Centers. In this way, the agreement offers flexible alternatives so that a greater number of companies can take advantage of logistics benefits and strengthen their participation in national and international markets.
Free Training Program for Internationalization
Additionally, a free training program was established for MSMEs in the state, focused on identifying export opportunities, preparing for new markets, complying with international requirements, and implementing best practices in packaging and packing, with the purpose of strengthening their capabilities to compete in global trade.
Regarding support for the local private sector, Erika Ceciliano, UPS Mexico’s Director of Operations, stated: “At UPS, we believe that the growth of MSMEs begins when they have the right tools and support to reach new markets. This partnership with the Government of Aguascalientes seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of companies in the state by providing them with logistics solutions and specialized knowledge so that exporting becomes simpler, safer, and more accessible.”
Agreement Validity and Participation Requirements
Regarding the operational details and deadlines for accessing the benefits, Erika Ceciliano, UPS Mexico’s Director of Operations, explained that the benefits of the agreement will remain in effect until December 31, 2026. Interested parties can consult the participation requirements at UPS Shipping Centers or on ups.com.
Through initiatives such as this, the Government of the State of Aguascalientes and UPS reaffirm their commitment to strengthening economic development, promoting the internationalization of local companies, and consolidating Aguascalientes as an export-oriented, competitive, and innovative powerhouse.
