Aguascalientes is strengthening access to free healthcare for its residents. The Institute of Health Services of the State of Aguascalientes (ISSEA) has made a network of 85 Health Centers available, providing first-level medical care throughout the state. This initiative aims to ensure that people without social security receive essential preventive and medical services in a timely manner and at no cost.
At these medical facilities, residents have access to a wide range of basic services, including general medical consultations, universal vaccination for all ages, health prevention and promotion programs, family planning, and free medication. The services also include dental care, nutrition, psychological support, child development units, and youth- and adolescent-friendly services.
Some centers offer more specialized services, such as electrocardiograms and vasectomies at designated facilities. Gender equality is also a key priority, with specialized care and screening programs aimed at the early detection of women’s cancers. For greater convenience, 12 of the 85 Health Centers operate 24 hours a day.
The health centers operated by the Institute of Health Services of the State of Aguascalientes (ISSEA) provide basic medical care and medications.
Additionally, the State Health Secretariat operates eight Aguascalientes Popular Insurance Clinics, which complement the healthcare network by offering optometry, clinical laboratory services, and mammograms.
To access these benefits, applicants must provide a copy of an official identification document, their Unique Population Registry Code (CURP), proof of address, and a letter stating that they are not covered by another social security system.
