The effort, creativity, and commitment to the environment of young entrepreneurs from the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes materialized in the development of “Ultrón,” a durable and eco-friendly waterproofing product made from recycled paper.

This project was presented during the 50th Entrepreneurial Showcase, an event that brought together nearly 600 students from 16 different majors and whose objective is to find innovative solutions.

The team of young developers behind “Ultrón,” with valuable mentorship from experts in the field, successfully formulated a product that promises to transform the way homes and buildings are protected.

Diego Gael Lara Díaz, a Business Administration student, explained that his product differs from others on the market due to two key characteristics: it is environmentally friendly and offered at a low cost.

The base of “Ultrón” is an innovative mixture that incorporates recycled paper, water, and acrylic resins. This composition not only reduces environmental impact but also offers a guaranteed five-year lifespan, overcoming the quality concerns that often surround other waterproofing products.

The team participating in the Entrepreneurial Showcase dedicated approximately three months to developing the idea and perfecting the formula. Their process involved using mixers to combine recycled paper with water and resin, resulting in a substance that spreads efficiently over the surface after applying a sealant.

The young entrepreneurs have already successfully tested the product with various painters, who have validated its excellent performance and ease of application. It is offered at highly competitive prices in 19-liter and gallon containers.

This achievement demonstrates the ability of young Mexican university students to generate practical and sustainable solutions. The team is confident that their product can usher in a new era of environmentally friendly construction products.
