A tragedy occurred in Granja Nueva Teresa, which is located on federal highway No. 71 Aguascalientes-Villa Hidalgo after three members of a family drowned when they fell into a pond that is used as a breeding ground for fish.
The report to the Municipal C4 was received on Monday at approximately 2:22 p.m. and preventive police officers from the “Insurgentes” Detachment were immediately transferred, as well as Municipal Firefighters of Aguascalientes, Municipal Civil Protection personnel and the ambulances AGS-019 and AGS- 022 of the Red Cross.
When they arrived they realized that they had already rescued the bodies of a woman identified as María Liliana, 32 years old; as well as her two daughters, ages 11 and 7, respectively.
To carry out the corresponding investigations, the agents of the PDI Homicide Group, the personnel of the Expert Investigation Directorate, and the agent of the Public Ministry of Hospitals of the State Attorney General’s Office went to the scene of the tragedy.
The husband and father of the deceased, who said his name was José Manuel, 35 years old, commented that he works on the aforementioned farm, where he also has his home, and at approximately 1:00 p.m. he retired to another place to carry out some errands
However, 40 minutes later he returned home and realized that only his son, a 3-year-old boy, was there.
When asked about the whereabouts of his mother and sisters, the little boy replied that they had fallen into the pond. Upon hearing the above, he immediately went to the indicated place, which is located several meters away from the house.
At that moment he saw his wife and daughters at the bottom of the water, so he went in to rescue them, although by that time they had already drowned. Subsequently, he drove in a white Nissan pick-up truck to federal highway No. 71 and asked a motorist for help, who in turn notified the emergency services of what happened.
It is presumed that the accident occurred when one of the girls accidentally fell into the pond that is just over a meter deep and when her sister and mother tried to rescue her, they also drowned as they could not swim.
