With the goal of helping farmers earn higher incomes while using less water, the State Government, through the Secretariat of Rural and Agribusiness Development (Sedrae), launched the State Program for Crop Conversion and Diversification.

This program supports those who choose to switch from traditional crops to more profitable and efficient ones, such as plum, avocado, peach, asparagus, strawberry, pomegranate, pitahaya, fig, lemon, walnut, prickly pear cactus, and grapevines (table and wine grapes), among others.

Participating farmers will receive financial support to cover part of the cost of the plants, which are certified by INIFAP (National Institute of Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock Research), guaranteeing their quality, health, and healthy growth.

The head of Sedrae, Isidoro Armendáriz, emphasized that the agricultural sector in Aguascalientes has great potential and that diversifying production allows for water conservation and improved incomes for farming families.

Ejido members, small landowners, communal landowners, settlers, and producer groups with irrigated crops are eligible to participate.

Those interested have until June 26, 2026, to submit their application to the Sedrae offices, located at Avenida Adolfo López Mateos #1509 East, Bona Gens subdivision.
