Following the roadblocks and burning of vehicles reported in various parts of Zacatecas early Friday morning, Aguascalientes authorities activated preventive operations to protect those traveling north of the state.
The State Secretary of Public Security, Antonio Martínez Romo, reported that an alert was issued through the C5 (Center for Traffic and Communications) early this morning, which allowed for the coordination of actions with the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and municipal police.
Martínez Romo indicated that an anti-blockade operation remains active throughout the state, with special surveillance on Highway 45 North and at the access gate located in Cosío.
The Secretary recommended that motorists traveling northward exercise extreme caution and remain alert to any official warnings, as criminal activity continues to be reported in Zacatecas.
