- Aguascalientes’ exports in the second quarter of this year were 3.331 billion dollars, which exceeded by 5.2% those of the same period in 2023, INEGI reported today.
If we consider that exports in the first quarter, for 3.91 billion dollars, were 32% higher than those of January-March 2023, the total income from foreign sales was 7.241 billion dollars. This implies that there was an annualized half-year increase of 18%. But in addition, those more than 7 billion dollars are the highest figure for any first semester since 2008.
The 5.2% increase recorded by Aguascalientes’ exports in the second quarter of this year was below that registered in 15 of the country’s entities. And it is worth noting that in 11 of the states there was a year-on-year decrease.
Of the five states closest to Aguascalientes, the increase in exports in the second quarter was more pronounced than here in three of them: Zacatecas (+15.2%), San Luis Potosí +12.3%) and Guanajuato (+10.9%). The growth in Jalisco was 3.85% and in Querétaro it was 0.2%.
