The Aguascalientes Attorney General’s Office received a new vehicle fleet, firearms, and tactical equipment in 2026 from Governor Tere Jiménez, with the aim of strengthening the operational capacity of criminal investigation agents and maintaining the state as a national benchmark in law enforcement and the administration of justice.
What equipment did the agency receive and what is its purpose?
To reinforce field operations, state authorities equipped the agency with 30 vehicles, handguns and long guns, as well as ballistic vests. These resources are intended directly for the operational duties of the General Commissioner of the Criminal Investigation Police.
During the official handover, the governor emphasized that the equipment is intended to increase the effectiveness of case investigations and support police work:
“These resources strengthen the mission of investigating more effectively, acting with greater efficiency, and firmly carrying out our responsibilities. In our state, security is a priority and the reason to unite efforts, work with a broader vision, and ensure that Aguascalientes has peace and tranquility,” Tere Jiménez emphasized.
Blindaje Aguascalientes and national performance evaluation
The governor explained that these actions are part of the strategic initiative known as Blindaje Aguascalientes, which seeks to provide modern tools to offer victims dignified and timely assistance.
She also highlighted the agency’s position at the federal level:
“Its institutional strength, technical capacity, and the efficient performance of its personnel are fundamental to combating impunity and guaranteeing access to justice. Today, the results support this work, because the State Attorney General’s Office ranks among the three best evaluated in the country, according to the 2026 State Performance Index of Prosecutor’s Offices and Attorney General’s Offices, prepared by Impunidad Cero,” she stated.
Operational support and recognition of prosecutorial personnel
The head of the agency, Manuel Alonso García, emphasized the importance of ensuring protection for the personnel who fight crime every day:
“This equipment means response capacity, institutional support, and the certainty that those who go out every day to protect others also deserve to feel protected by their institution. Thank you, Governor, for all your support in protecting and caring for those who protect us,” the attorney general said.
The event, held at the Isla San Marcos Convention Center, brought together military, federal, legislative, and judicial authorities.
As part of the ceremony, authorities presented awards to employees with 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service in law enforcement and the administration of justice.
Representing the decorated personnel, Inspector Rafael Hermenegildo García de la Torre expressed the agency’s commitment to maintaining an institution that remains close to victims, thereby reinforcing the strategic role of the Aguascalientes Attorney General’s Office.
